Вторая и более длинная часть соревнований в одиночном и парном фигурном катании, исполняемая после короткой программы. В произвольной программе исполняются все виды элементов (прыжки, вращения, шаги, спирали и т.д.), но предписано только количество этих элементов, а содержание свободно для выбора спортсменом. Программа длится 4,5 минуты у мужчин и пар, 4 минуты у женщин.

free skating (FS)
Second and longer of the two programs performed by singles and pair skaters at a figure skating competition that follows after the short program. All types of elements (jumps, spins, steps, spirals, etc.) are performed in free skating, but only the quantity of the elements are strictly prescribed, the content of the program is up to the skaters choice. The time limit is 4.5 minutes for men's singles and pairs and 4 minutes for ladies' singles.
